Al Pacino set to play Phil Spector for HBO
Story by Jack Foley
AL PACINO is to reunite with HBO for a new biopic on legendary record producer Phil Spector.
The actor last worked with the pay cabler for the acclaimed movie You Don’t Know Jack, in which he played Jack Kevorkian and subsequently won an Emmy.
The Spector biopic will follow the career of the iconic record producer, who was sent to jail last year for a minimum of 19 years for the murder of Lana Clarkson.
Variety reports that the project is still in the development stage and without a title, although David Mamet has written a script which he will also direct. Barry Levinson, who directed the Jack biopic, will serve as executive producer.
