VIOLENT drama Banshee has been renewed for a third season.
According to Cinemax, season three will debut in 2015.
Antony Starr toplines the series as ex-con and master thief Lucas Hood, who tracks down his former lover and partner in crime Carrie Hopewell (Ivana Milicevic), only to find she has reinvented herself as the wife of the Banshee, Pa, prosecutor.
Assuming the identity of the town’s sheriff, Hood continues his criminal activities even as he’s hunted by the shadowy gangsters he betrayed years earlier.
True Blood’s Alan Ball and House’s Greg Yaitanes are among its executive producers.
Banshee airs in the UK on Sky Atlantic. Season two is due to begin shortly and has already proved a ratings hit in the US.
