Benjamin Bratt to join Private Practice
Story by Jack Foley
BENJAMIN Bratt is to join the cast of Grey’s Anatomy medical spin-off Private Practice.
The former Law & Order star will appear in the season finale, before joining the series as a regular next season – although details of his role are being kept under wraps.
News of his appointment follows Audra McDonald’s decision to leave the show at the end of the season “to spend more time with her family in New York”.
The casting news is seen as an attempt to keep the show popular as the spin-off series enters its fourth season with signs of a ratings dip.
Last year, for instance, it attracted an average of 8.2 million viewers, down from a full-season average of 9.3 million the year before. This is compared to Grey‘s 12 million average.
It has, however, already been granted a fifth season.
UK viewers can see Private Practice on Sky’s Living channel.
