Bill Pullman to play US President again for TV comedy
Story by Jack Foley
BILL Pullman is to play the US President for a second time in new NBC comedy 1600 Penn.
The actor last played the president in sci-fi blockbuster Independence Day, during which he was seen rallying a nation to fight back against alien invaders who had previously blown apart the White House.
1600 Penn, on the other hand, is a single-camera project that follows a dysfunctional family that just happens to live at the most famous address in America.
Pullman will be joined by Brittany Snow, as his over-achieving, perfectionist daughter and Josh Gad, as his clumsy son.
Modern Family director Jason Winer, former Obama speechwriter Jon Lovett and Gad are attached as executive producers on the pilot, which is being backed by Twentieth Century Fox.
