Billions renewed for fourth season

Billions: Season 1

Story by Jack Foley

HIT financial drama Billions has been renewed for a fourth season at Showtime.

The news comes after the third season premiere of the Paul Giamatti/Damian Lewis led show became the highest-rated ever, up 30% in the key demographic in the US.

In making the announcement, Gary Levine, president of programming for Showtime, said: “Billions continues to build its audience as it explores the heights of power and wealth even as it plumbs the depths of the human psyche.

“[Showruners] Brian [Koppelman] and David [Levien] are gifted, propulsive storytellers and we can’t wait to see where they and their extraordinary cast will take us in season four.”

Season 3, which is currently airing on Sky Atlantic in the UK, finds Chuck Rhoades (Giamatti) and Bobby Axelrod (Lewis) in a world that has shifted on its axis.

Both men are still determined to destroy the other, but must also battle for their own survival amid new forces and powerful enemies.

The cast also includes Maggie Siff, Malin Akerman, Toby Leonard Moore, David Costabile, Condola Rashad, Asia Kate Dillon, and Jeffrey DeMunn.
