YOU are cordially invited to take afternoon tea at the sprawling estate of Blandings Castle.

A domain called home by upper-class nitwits, faithful servants and pot-bellied pigs alike. Discover a British comedy that really takes the biscuit when brand new period series Blandings comes to DVD on February 18, 2013, courtesy of ITV Studios Global Entertainment.

With a spectacular British cast including Timothy Spall (Harry Potter, Sweeney Todd, Enchanted) as wacky centrepiece Lord Clarence Emsworth; Jennifer Saunders (Absolutely Fabulous, French and Saunders, Shrek 2) as his indelibly demanding sister Connie; Jack Farthing (Pramface), as their dopey son Freddie Threepwood, and the wonderful Mark Williams (Harry potter Series, Doctor Who, The Fast Show) as their long-suffering butler Sebastian Beach, making Blandings a jolly good romp indeed.

The leads are supported by brilliant guest appearances from a host of famous faces, including British music sensation Paloma Faith (St Trinians, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus) as dancer and young Freddie’s love interest Georgia; David Walliams (Little Britain, Stardust, Great Expectations) as Emsworth’s Secretary Rupert Baxter; and the hilarious Jessica Hynes (Twenty Twelve, Shaun of the Dead) as sophisticated widow Daphne.

Sam Hoare (Captain America: The First Avenger, The Golden Compass, Borgen) and David Bamber (The King’s Speech, The Bourne Identity, The Paradise) also join the formidable ensemble.

Amorously adapted from inimitable prose by legendary humorist P.G. Wodehouse; the literary giant who penned iconic characters such as Jeeves and Wooster, Ukridge and Uncle Fred, Blandings has been brought to the small screen with grace and flair, courtesy of writer Guy Andrews (Prime Suspect, Lewis, Agatha Christie’s Poirot) and director Paul Seed (Doc Martin, Lark Rise to Candleford, Just William), who deliver a series that is equal parts silly and charming, farcical and frolicsome, in true Wodehouse style.

Blandings Castle is the home of a chaotic family struggling to keep itself in order.

Clarence Emsworth; ninth earl and master of Blandings Castle, yearns with all his soul to be left in peace; preferably in the company of his beloved pig, The Empress.

But he never is… there is always someone who wants him to do something. At every turn he is hounded by his formidable sister Connie, his feeble-witted son Freddie and a blizzard of love-struck nieces and their wildly unsuitable boyfriends with only his faithful butler Beach offering reluctant support. Who would be master of Blandings Castle?!

Transport yourself into the heart of 1920s London and be prepared to ‘roar’ with laughter as Blandings comes to DVD on February 18, 2013, from ITV Studios Home Entertainment.
