Boardwalk Empire

Story by Jack Foley

BOARDWALK Empire has been renewed for a fifth season.

Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming, said in a statement: “Thanks to Terry Winter, Martin Scorsese, Tim Van Patten, Howard Korder and their stellar team, Boardwalk Empire remains in a class by itself.

“I look forward to another electrifying season of this impeccably crafted series.”

The Steve Buscemi-star vehicle recently picked up 5 Emmys, including an Outstanding Supporting Actor win for Bobby Cannavale (whose character met a violent end at the climax of the fourth season).

The five wins represented the most for any series this year.

The show is currently airing its fourth season in the US, with Sky Atlantic set to follow in the UK.
