Brand X with Russell Brand renewed for second season

RUSSELL Brand’s stand-up show, Brand X with Russell Brand, has been renewed for seven more episodes.
The pick-up was announced by FX cable network president John Landgraf during the Television Critics’ Association’s semi-annual press tour, at which he also hinted at possible renewals for Charlie Sheen’s Anger Management and Wilfred.
Brand remains a popular choice with Americans, who helped the first episode of the show’s debut run premiere to 1.1 million viewers.
Some critics have even suggested that the comedian’s brilliance is such that it can’t be contained to a mere 22 minutes per episode.
In the UK, the show airs on Sky Atlantic as part of its new commitment to showing comedy, including Veep.
In addition to Brand X, Landgraf also confirmed a fourth season for multiple Emmy nominee Louie, as well as a drama pilot for The Bridge, based on the acclaimed Danish series of the same name.
The US version has been created by Cold Case executive producer Meredith Stiehm.
