Breaking Bad, Saul Goodman

Story by Jack Foley

A BREAKING Bad spin-off is moving forward.

Based around the popular Saul Goodman character, the series will be developed under the working title Better Call Saul.

In a joint statement, AMC and Sony Pictures Television said: “As conceived, the new series is based on the show’s popular Saul Goodman character with the working title Better Call Saul. Plans call for Saul to be a one-hour prequel that will focus on the evolution of the popular Saul Goodman character before he ever became Walter White’s lawyer.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series is expected to star Bob Odenkirk, who has played Saul for several seasons.

Writer-producer Peter Gould is also set to run the effort, as it was him who created the character back in season two, while Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan will remain involved.

A foull series order won’t come until Gould, Gilligan and Odenkirk have completed their deals.
