Brenda Blethyn's Vera renewed for fourth series

BRENDA Blethyn detective drama has been renewed for a fourth season even before its third season commences.

TV has greenlit a further four new episodes of two hours each. Filming will take place on location in Northumberland between June and October.

Series three of Vera will air this summer.

Directors Thaddeus O’Sullivan and Will Sinclair will return to oversee production and Paul Rutman, Martha Hillier and Richard Davidson will write the first three films.

David Leon will return as Vera’s trusted partner Sergeant Joe Ashworth.
