CARRIE-Anne Moss is the latest star name to be added to the final season of Chuck.

Just a week after Star Wars legend Mark Hamill was confirmed to play a villain during the fifth season’s start, Matrix hero Moss has also been added to the show’s ranks.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the former Ms Trinity will have a multi-episode arc playing a character named Gertrude Verbanski.

The report says she will be “a former spy who now runs Verbanski Corp, the chief rival of Chuck’s new spy company”.

“She’s ruthless and deadly, yet she also has a weak spot for one John Casey – her old rival,” it adds.

That means Moss could be the love interest that producers hinted at giving Adam Baldwin’s character at last week’s Comic-Con.

Also appearing over the course of the final 13 episodes will be Craig Kilborn as another villain – but the headlines and main source of excitement clearly belongs to Moss.
