CARRIE-Anne Moss is to star in Norwegian crime series Wisting.

The former Matrix star will play an FBI agent who travels to Scandinavia to track an American serial killer who is on the run.

She will line up alongside Norwegian actor Sven Nordin (Lilyhammer), who plays the eponymous Wisting, a homicide detective pursuing a wanted American serial killer now living somewhere in Norway.

British actor Richie Campbell (The Frankenstein Chronicles) has also joined the cast as an FBI agent.

The 10-part drama is based on the crime series by best-selling author Jorn Lier Horst, with the first season having been adapted from his books The Hunting Dogs and The Caveman.

The series has been commissioned by Scandinavian broadcaster Modern Times Group (MTG) for its Viaplay digital streaming service and Norwegian free-to-air network TV3.

Commenting on her involvement, Moss said: “To be a part of something with this kind of calibre is exciting for me. Characters and stories created through the lens of Scandinavia’s expert perspective, alongside working with actors such as Sven Nordin, make this a thrilling project for me.”

Shooting on the series has already begun in southern Norway.

Since appearing as Trinity in The Matrix series, Moss has also found success in acclaimed TV shows such as Humans and Jessica Jones.

Wisting, created by Katarina Launing and Trygve Allister Diesen and written by Diesen and Kathrine Valen Zeiner, is set to be the biggest drama series produced in Norway.
