CBS has renewed a number of its top shows, including the dramas The Good Wife, Blue Bloods, Person of Interest, Elementary and Hawaii Five-O.

The Mentalist and NCIS: Los Angeles will also be coming back for new runs on the drama front.

Comedy renewals include 2 Broke Girls and Mike & Molly together with the announced How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory.

Negotiations are continuing for an 11th season of Two And A Half Men, with the indications looking good for a return.

Of the shows that have yet to be renewed, Criminal Minds and CSI: New York feature prominently among the ongoing dramas, while comedy Rules of Engagement is also under threat of the axe.

Criminal Minds, which recently finished its ninth season, saw ratings dip in its Friday hour this year, while CSI could follow fellow spin-off Miami into the sunset – although nothing is confirmed.

Of the other programmes facing possible cancellation possibly the most high profile is Vegas, the period crime drama starring Dennis Quaid. The show has under-performed.
