CHARLIE Cox looks set to be confirmed to play Marvel and Netflix’s Daredevil.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the British actor – best known for his roles in Stardust and Boardwalk Empire – will play the blind crime-fighting hero at the centre of the series.
The 13-episode drama will follow the fortunes of Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer by day who turns into crime-fighting hero Daredevil by night. The first run will comprise 13-episodes.
Spartacus head guy Steven S. DeKnight will serve as showrunner on the series, while Drew Goddard is an executive producer.
Netflix’s Daredevil is part of a multi-series deal with Marvel that also includes Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage series, as well as mini-series The Defenders.
It also continues the studio’s move into TV as well as film given that Marvel is also expanding its relationship with ABC, adding a Captain America spin-off, named Agent Carter, as a filler between the autumn and spring runs of the sophomore season of Agents of SHIELD.
Official confirmation of Cox’s casting is due within days, according to the report.
