Preview by Jack Foley

TAKING a bite out of Big Apple crime, Detective Mac Taylor (Gary Sinise) continues to lead his team of dedicated detectives through the gritty and kinetic city that never sleeps.

Catch all the excitement when CSI New York: Season 5, Part 2 is released on DVD by Momentum Pictures on September 7, 2009.

You think you know them… think again. In Season 5 of CSI: NY secrets are revealed as we explore the characters in even more depth and see the CSIs tackle their toughest cases to date.

Having started the season with Mac in trouble, the latter episodes include a case for Stella Bonasera (Melina Kanakaredes) that becomes personal, and a story in which Detective Don Flack (Eddie Cahill) finds himself in the hot seat when a teenage suspect dies in his custody.

The concluding episodes of Season 5 continue to enthral as each member of the CSI team is forced to push themselves to the limit.

The CSI’s must piece together a human jigsaw puzzle when a beloved wrestling coach’s severed body parts are found buried throughout the city and when a Russian tourist is found stabbed to death they must come face-to-face with the frightening reality of human trafficking.

The unusual clues in the case of dead bride-to-be force Dr Hawkes (Hill Harper) to face a painful chapter from his past and an investigation takes an emotional turn when the team must confront one of the greatest tragedies in human existence – the Holocaust.

In the city that never sleeps, crime never rests and the CSI’s must use their skills to crack the cases that are determined to evade them.

Guest stars in the latter part of the season include Julia Ormond (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), recording artist Nelly and Emmy award winner Mare Winningham (Grey’s Anatomy).

About CSI: NY

The CSI: NY team is led by Det. Mac Taylor (Sinise), a dedicated and driven crime-scene investigator who believes that everything is connected and everyone has a story.

He and his partner, Stella Bonsaera (Kanakaredes), a well-travelled, well-educated detective, share a passion for the job. They lead a team of experts including Danny Messer (Carmine Giovinazzo), an investigator with an unflappable spirit, who attempts daily to live up to the honour of being hand-picked by Mac; Sheldon Hawkes (Hill Harper), the crime lab’s former coroner, and Don Flack (Eddie Cahill), an edgy, hardcore detective with a quick wit, impressive forensic insight and a long family history in law enforcement.

Rounding out the team is Lindsay Monroe (Anna Belknap), a Montana native with intelligence, perseverence and a secret past.

The New York CSIs may have a different process from those in Las Vegas and Miami, but they are guided by the same steadfast ambition.
