Curb Your Enthusiasm - The best cameos

Curb Your Enthusiasm

Compiled by Jack Foley

CURB Your Enthusiasm, the American comedy series created by Larry David, follows the life of David, a character loosely-based on his eccentric self, working as a semi-retired television writer and producer in LA.

Curb is known for its collection of hilarious guest stars throughout the series. Here is a look at 10 of the most memorable cameos from past seasons, including season 8, which is out on DVD on Monday, June 11, 2012.

Ricky Gervais

In season eight of Curb Your Enthusiasm Larry David teams up with fellow comedian and producer Ricky Gervais. The two continuously try to out-do one another throughout that episode making snide remarks at every given opportunity. A match made in TV comedy heaven.

Shaquille O’Neal

After accidently tripping Shaq during a basketball game, making him sit out for two months, Larry makes it his mission to get forgiveness, especially since he finds out that Shaq is a Seinfeld fan.

For once in his life everything seems to be going David’s way as he befriends Shaq and exposes the doctor for misdiagnosing O’Neill. But of course this only lasts for a short amount of time and all soon goes back to normal.

Ben Stiller

In season four Ben and Larry and set to be co-stars in The Producers. But after Larry arrives at Ben’s birthday party with no gift, curses at all of the children and punches Stiller in the eye, its safe to say that they did not end up working together, nor would they in future productions.

Stephen Colbert

The usually political comedian left the politics aside to make a cameo in the fourth season playing a tourist who repeatedly fights with his wife and tells Larry that he will fail in his upcoming Broadway appearance.

The cast of Seinfeld

After making several separate cameos, season seven finally brought the entire cast of Seinfeld together once again. All four actors were given the opportunity to play their original Seinfeld characters, creating a well received mini-reunion.

Martin Short

It is safe to say Martin Short could read the phone book and still make an audience laugh. In this knee-slapper of a cameo, Larry runs into Short on the street and asks him to do the infamous Jiminy Glick voice. Cue laughter.

Dustin Hoffman & Sacha Baron Cohen

The two names appearing should alone speak for this cameo. In this hysterical episode and fan favourite when Larry goes to heaven, our funnyman is welcomed into the golden gates by Hoffman and Cohen. It isn’t long before Larry gets into a heated tiff with Hoffman and is promptly sent back to earth.

Michael J. Fox

Only Larry would dare. Michael J. Fox is beloved by anyone with an appreciation for good entertainment, so we would have to say poking fun at the actor’s widely known Parkinson’s disease. Somehow it worked, and it worked very well.

Christian Slater

We love looking at him and we loved laughing at him in this famous Curb cameo. Slater made an appearance to over-indulge in some caviar at a party – and of course, Larry calls him out on it in one of his famous rants.

Muggsy Bogues

Imagine Larry being caught looking at Muggsy’s “junk” in the locker room and a fight ensuing – well, you don’t have to. It happens in this came. Watching Larry wiggle his way out of the situation via a fake heart attack is just as hilarious as it sounds.
