Dallas reboot draws original cast members and Jordana Brewster
Story by Jack Foley
A NEW version of popular US soap Dallas appears to be gaining momentum – furiously fast!
Jordana Brewster (of Fast & Furious fame, pictured) has been lined up to play Elena in the TNT reboot, which focuses on the Ewing family offspring, while Josh Henderson (Desperate Housewives) will play the character John.
In addition, TNT has also now reportedly lined up three of the show’s original stars to appear in the pilot – namely Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray.
According to a report on The Hollywood Reporter, Henderson’s John will be JR Ewing’s son who clashes with Christopher, the adopted son of Bobby and Pam Ewing, over the future of the family dynasty.
To complicate their rivalry further, Brewster’s Elena will be involved in a love triangle between the two of them.
The casting of the former stars means that JR (Hagman), Bobby (Duffy) and Sue Ellen (Gray) will all be coming back for more double dealing.
The original series of Dallas was a global TV sensation and ran from 1978-91. One of its storylines also made the front page of national newspaper The Sun following its ‘Who Shot JR?’ revelation.
The pilot for the reboot has been written by Cynthia Cidre (Cane) based on characters created by David Jacobs.
