David Morrissey to star in Line of Sight pilot

The Walking Dead

Story by Jack Foley

DAVID Morrissey has landed one of the lead roles in AMC’s new drama pilot Line of Sight.

The drama, from Brotherhood‘s Blake Masters, will focus on a National Transportation Safety Board investigator named Lewis Bernt (to be played by Morrissey) who survives a mysterious plane crash and begins an emotional journey to discover the cause of the accident.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the British actor will film the pilot alongside the upcoming fourth season of The Walking Dead, the zombie drama that finds him playing the role of chief villain The Governor.

AMC said in a statement: “We are huge fans of David Morrissey and are glad he’ll be doing double duty for AMC viewers through his work on The Walking Dead and our pilot for Line of Sight, both of which are produced in Atlanta.”

AMC picked up Line of Sight to pilot in April and has already assigned Jonathan Demme to direct.

Morrissey’s involvement in what could be a future series for the channel further fuels speculation that his Walking Dead character may not be long for this Earth.

The Governor was not expected to survive his first season, especially as in the comic books the character was ultimately killed during a bloody battle for the prison – the central location of the series’ third and upcoming fourth season.
