David Slade directs The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

Story by Jack Foley

DAVID Slade, director of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, has joined NBC drama series Hannibal.

The filmmaker will direct and serve as an executive producer on the pilot, according to The Hollywood Reporter, while Hugh Dancy, fresh off his recurring role on Showtime’s The Big C, will take one of the two lead roles as FBI agent Will Graham.

As yet, the role of Hannibal Lecter, the world’s most famous fictional serial killer, has still to be cast.

Penned by Bryan Fuller, the drama was picked up by NBC straight to series in February with a 13-episode order.

The show is described as an hour long contemporary thriller featuring characters from Thomas Harris’ best-seller.

It will revolve around FBI agent Graham and his mentor, Dr. Lecter, who are re-introduced as the beginning of their budding relationship.

In addition to helming Eclipse, Slade’s directing credits include 30 Days of Night and Hard Candy. His TV work includes Awake and Breaking Bad.
