French & Saunders

Story by Jack Foley

DAWN French is to play James Corden’s mum in his new six-part comedy series on BBC Two.

The Wrong Mans follows the story of Sam (Mathew Baynton) and Phil (Corden) as they become caught up in a conspiracy after finding a ringing phone at the scene of a crash.

Former Vicar of Dibley star French will play the resourceful Linda.

The series has been co-written by Corden and his Gavin & Stacey co-star Baynton. It will also star Silent Witness actress Emilia Fox, Dan Renton Skinner, better known for his comic alter-ago Angelos Epithemiou on Shooting Stars, Rebecca Front, from The Thick Of It, Sarah Solemani, from BBC Three’s Him And Her, and Prometheus actor Benedict Wong.

Executive producer Mark Freeland said of the series, which is currently in production: “We are trying to do a comedy with explosions, a lot of running about, murder, extortion, friendship and love.”
