Dexter Fletcher and Kayvan Novak join Rev for third series

Story by Jack Foley

THE third series of hit BBC sitcom Rev has commenced filming and will see actor-director Dexter Fletcher and Fonejacker star Kayvan Novak among its guests.

The programme stars Tom Hollander as inner city vicar Reverend Adam Smallbone and will follow him as he faces up to the pressures of parenthood with his wife Alex (Olivia Colman).

Filming on the third series had been delayed because of the blossoming careers of its stars Hollander and Colman, who are in-demand for both film and TV work.

However, work is now underway on a further six episodes that will be screened next Spring (2014).

Fletcher, who is currently enjoying cinematic success with his latest directorial offering Sunshine On Leith, will play an award-winning modern artist, while Novak will play a local Imam.

Downton Abbey star Hugh Bonneville will also reprise his role as Adam’s arch rival Roland Wise, while Simon McBurney and Miles Jupp will also return.

Created by Hollander and James Wood, Rev was crowned best situation comedy at the 2011 BAFTAS.
