Director Corin Hardy joins Gareth Evans' Sky drama Gangs of London

CORIN Hardy, director of successful horror hit The Nun, has boarded ambitious new TV series Gangs of London.

A co-production between Sky and HBO, Gangs of London will follow different gangs battling for control of the British capital’s criminal underworld.

The series has been devised by Gareth Evans and Matt Flannery, the pair behind the popular Raid movie franchise.

Hardy, whose film The Nun broke franchise records for The Conjuring in its September opening weekend, commented: “The multi-layered story weaves emotional drama with blistering action set pieces which I found enthralling to read. I am looking forward to bringing something rich and cinematic to the city streets.”

Evans added: “Having been a huge fan of his for some time, Corin’s genre sensibilities and ambitious scope perfectly complement the cinematic landscape we strive to achieve for Gangs of London.”

Gangs of London is part of the $250 million production deal between Sky and HBO. It is currently scheduled t make its debut sometime in 2019.
