COMEDIAN Lee Evans and former Bionic Woman star Michelle Ryan will both guest star in the Easter special of Doctor Who, according to the BBC.

Entitled Planet Of The Dead, the special will find Ryan playing the mysterious Lady Christina de Souza, while Evans plays a character called Malcolm, who shares a special connection to the Doctor.

The episode will mark the first of four specials that will herald the end of David Tennant’s tenure as the world famous Time Lord.

Commenting on her involvement, Ryan said she was a huge fan of the series and was “excited” to be joining Tennant and the rest of the team.

She added: “It’s such a fantastic show and I can’t wait to get started.”

Prior to appearing in the ill-fated update of Bionic Woman on US TV, Ryan was best known for playng the character Zoe Slater on BBC soap, EastEnders.

Russell T Davies, executive producer and writer of Doctor Who, pledged to keep the script for Planet Of The Dead under wraps, but added: “Michelle is one of the most sought-after young actors in the country and we are delighted to announce that she will be joining the team.”

Davies did hint that her character will have “a huge impact” on the Doctor.
