DOMINIC Cooper is to play a young Ian Fleming in a new drama for Sky Atlantic.

The four parter will offer a “no-holds barred” look at the life of the 007 creator and will screen later this year as part of the channel’s Playhouse Presents series.

Cooper said in a statement: “Stepping into the shoes of the spy who not only created 007 but fantasised about being him has to be every actor’s dream.”

The James Bond franchise this year celebrated its 50th anniversary with the release of 23rd 007 adventure Skyfall, which has since become the most successful film in the franchise history.

Ironically, the film was not based on one of Fleming’s novels.

Cooper has previously been seen in films including Mamma Mia! and Tamara Drewe.
