Dominic Monaghan joins FlashForward
Story by Jack Foley
FORMER Lost favourite Dominic Monaghan has joined the cast of new ABC series FlashForward alongside Joseph Fiennes (pictured).
The actor, who played Charlie Pace in Lost, was officially unveiled as being part of the fantasy drama at Comic-Con on Friday. He will play a character named Simon in the ensemble piece and will join the show early in its run despite not featuring in the pilot.
Gabrielle Union has also signed on to the show in a recurring role as a criminal defence attorney who becomes involved romantically with one of the main characters.
FlashForward is ABC’s biggest drama for the approaching Autumn season and is being viewed by many TV pundits as a potential replacement for Lost, which enters its final run later this year.
The keenly-anticipated series follows the aftermath of a mysterious event when everyone in the world blacks out and is given a glimpse of their future.
Joining Fiennes and Monaghan in the ensemble are Courtney B Vance, John Cho and Jack Davenport.
The show boasts David S. Goyer and Brannon Braga as two of its executive producers – both of whom also directed the pilot episode. The show is due to make its debut on US TV on September 24.
