Dylan McDermott joins Toni Collette for Hostages
Story by Jack Foley
DYLAN McDermott is to play co-lead alongside Toni Collette in new TV drama Hostages.
The pilot, which is being executive produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, follows Ellen (Collette), a Washington, DC, surgeon who finds herself in the middle of a political conspiracy after being chosen to operate on the president of the United States.
Her family is taken hostage, and it’s her responsibility to save their lives.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, McDermott – whose recent TV success came in the first season of American Horror Story – will play Duncan, a righteous FBI agent who is at the centre of a political conspiracy involving the president.
His role will, however, come as a surprise.
The drama has been written by Jeffrey Nachmanoff (Traitor, Homeland) and is based on an Israeli format by Alon Aranya, Rotem Shamir and Chayim Sharir that was never produced. Nachmanoff will also direct.
