Emerald Fennell to play Camila Parker Bowles in The Crown: Series 3

Emerald Fennell

Story by Jack Foley

EMERALD Fennell has joined the third season of Netflix royal drama The Crown as Camila Parker Bowles, the second wife of Prince Charles and Duchess of Cornwall.

The Call The Midwife star joins previously announced cast members Olivia Colman, Tobias Menzies, Helena Bonham Carter, Jason Watkins, Josh O’Connor and Marion Bailey.

Fennell commented: “I’m absolutely over the moon, and completely terrified, to be joining so many hugely talented people on The Crown. I absolutely love Camilla, and am very grateful that my teenage years have well prepared me for playing a chain-smoking serial snogger with a pudding bowl hair cut.”

Fennell is also known for her roles in films such as Pan, The Danish Girl and Anna Karenina. She also recently became head writer for Season 2 of the critically-acclaimed spy series Killing Eve, taking over for Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

The third season of award-winning and critically-acclaimed drama The Crown will launch on Netflix in 2019.

The second season of the drama recently picked up five Emmy Awards, including best actress in a drama series for Claire Foy and best directing for a drama series for Stephen Daldry.

Colman will replace Foy in the main role, however, as the series creators look to cast older actors to portray the older versions of the characters.
