Entourage movie will definitely happen
Story by Jack Foley
A FILM version of hit TV show Entourage will definitely happen – it’s just a question of when and how quickly.
The pledge was made by both series creator Doug Ellin and producer Mark Wahlberg during the TV critics press tour at the Beverly Hilton in California.
Ellin led the charge, stating: “We’re going to do a movie… It’s a question of when and how quick. We’ll sit down and come up with an idea.”
While executive producer Mark Wahlberg added: “Well, I said if I had to finance myself, I’d do it. I certainly hope it has a chance to bcome a feature film, everybody always says the episodes are too short.
“[Viewers] want to go on a journey. The Hangover to me is like Entourage.”
Throwing his hat into the ring, too, was Jeremy Piven, whose agent Ari Gold is one of the show’s biggest assets.
He told assembled journalists: “I think [the final season] is a gratifying way to finish, yet I also feel we could transition into a movie.”
Commenting on that final season – currently airing on Sky Atlantic in the UK – leading man Adrian Grenier said there were mixed emotions among his fellow cast members – but mostly sadness that such a great show was coming to an end.
“We’re all choked up,” he said, after reflecting that this press tour would be the last time the cast were together to promote or shoot the TV show.
“We’ve been together for eight years. We’ve spent countless hours creating something were very proud of. It’s sad to say goodbye to each other and to what we created. We know we’ll always be connected on some level.”
He was backed by Jerry Ferrara – aka Turtle – who concluded: “It’s very, very bittersweet for me… You just wonder if it’s ever going to be like this again.”
