Story by Jack Foley
EVA Green and Joseph Fiennes (pictured) have joined the cast of Starz new 10-part Camelot reinvention.
The duo will play the sorceress Morgana and the wizard Merlin, respectively, alongside Jamie Campbell Bower as King Arthur and Tamsin Egerton as Lady Guinevere.
To be produced by Graham King, the re-telling of the Arthurian legend – which is rumoured to be given a contemporary setting – will debut on Starz (currently home to Spartacus: Blood and Sand) early next year.
Fiennes has just come off the cancelled show FlashForward while former Bond girl Green was last seen in Jordan Scott’s Cracks.
Campbell Bower is rapidly making a name for himself among the teen market, following performances in Tim Burton’s Sweeney Todd, as well as Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows and The Twilight Saga: New Moon.
And Egerton is another emerging British actress, who has featured prominently in the St Trinian‘s movies. She can currently be seen in Noel Clarke’s 188.8.131.52
Commenting on the casting announcements, Starz Media managing director Carmi Zlotnik said: “All of the best TV shows were marked by great actors in the ideal parts, and that is certainly the case with the talented cast on Camelot.”
