Falling Skies renewed for second season

FALLING Skies has been renewed for a second season by TNT.
The Noah Wyle-star vehicle, which is executive produced by Steven Spielberg, debuted in the US to 5.9 million total viewers, which marked the cable channel’s top series launch of the year.
It then continued to maintain a healthy audience, prompting the quick decision to renew the sci-fi series.
Announcing the news, Michael Wright, executive vice president and head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies, said: “Falling Skies is a true standout series, from its ambitious storytelling, high-profile cast and production team to its phenomenal success when it comes to international and time-shifted viewing.
“We’re reaching new audiences with Falling Skies and look forward to seeing where this fascinating and exciting series takes us next.”
Falling Skies can currently be seen on UK TV on F/X on Tuesday nights.
