Story by Jack Foley
FRANK Darabont is to direct a TV adaptation of graphic novel series The Walking Dead for US channel AMC.
Based on the graphic novel series about survivors of a zombie apocalypse by Robert Kirkman, the show has also been adapted by Darabont.
It will revolve around a group of survivors, led by a police officer, who travel the country in search of a safe home.
Darabont’s previous credits include the movies The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile and The Mist – all based on Stephen King short stories.
AMC has also greenlit a pilot for The Killing, according to Variety, which will be based on the popular Danish TV series Forbrydelsen.
Veena Sud, of Cold Case fame, has written the pilot and will executive produce together with Burn Notice‘s Mikkel Bondesen.
The Killing is described as a crime drama that turns on the murder of a young girl and the investigation that ensues. It will unfold from the perspective of a femme investigator.
