GAME Of Thrones star Kit Harington has broken his ankle.

News of the break was revealed by the HBO show’s Twitter account on Monday, July 9, when it was revealed that the actor would no longer be able to make the forthcoming Game of Thrones panel at this weekend’s Comic-Con in San Diego.

The post read: “Kit Harrington is recovering from a broken ankle and unfortunately will not be able to attend this year’s #SDCC.”

Rose Leslie, who plays Ygritte, will now take his place on Friday, July 13, along with co-stars Richard Madden, Emilia Clarke, Michelle Fairley and Alfie Allen. But Lena Headey has also been forced to withdraw due to a scheduling conflict.

Although it has not been reported how Harington suffered the injury, a spokesman for HBO told The Hollywood Reporter that Harington’s injury will not affect the show’s production schedule.

The actor has also recently joined the voice cast of How To Train Your Dragon 2, in which he will voice a villain.
