Gary Carr joins Downton Abbey

GARY Carr has joined the cast of Downton Abbey as a jazz singer.
According to ITV, the Death in Paradise star will play a “charming and charismatic” character named Jack Ross.
A statement from Carnival Films’ managing director Gareth Neame reads: “We are delighted to introduce another fantastic, dynamic character to Downton Abbey. His addition will bring interesting twists to the drama which we can’t wait for viewers to see in Series 4”.
Carr joins a lengthy list of new cast members, including Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Tom Cullen, Julian Ovenden, Nigel Harman, Joanna David and Dame Harriet Walter. Shirley MacLaine will also reprise her role as Martha Levinson
Downton Abbey will return for an eight-part fourth series this autumn, which will be followed by the now traditional feature-length special at Christmas 2013.
