Story by Jack Foley

HBO has renewed Girls for a third season.

According to Variety, the news was revealed by the show’s star and executive producer Lena Dunham in a podcast to Alec Baldwin earlier in the week.

She said: “We’re starting season three at the end of March. I’m so excited.”

Girls is currently in the middle of its second season but is one of HBO’s hottest new tickets having bagged two Golden Globes for best TV comedy and lead comedy actress for Dunham.

As yet, HBO has not confirmed the renewal.
