Glee favourite O'Malley confirms future is safe
Story by Jack Foley
GLEE favourite Mike O’Malley, who plays Kurt’s father in the hit show, has confirmed that he has no plans to leave the series despite signing up for a new pilot.
Concerns had been expressed by fans that O’Malley may be about to exit when it was announced that he would be among the cast of new Fox pilot Family Album.
But O’Malley moved to dismiss such fears when he told Entertainment Weekly that he made sure he would still be able to return to Glee before agreeing to do it.
Describing the role of Burt as “one of the best parts I’ve ever had in my life”, he said he didn’t want to leave Glee until “it’s run its course or the story has run its course”.
“I would not have taken this job, as much as I like Family Album, if they prevented me from continuing as Burt Hummel,” he added. “I would show up to Glee every day. It’s a really thrilling place to work.”
