Glee renewed for fourth season, New Girl back for second run
Story by Jack Foley
GLEE has officially been given a fourth season, US network Fox has confirmed, while Zooey Deschanel’s New Girl has been granted a second run.
Confirming the renewals, Kevin Reilly, President of Fox, said: “Over the past season, New Girl has become the hottest new appointment series for young adults… and Glee has continued its success as a genre-defying, global cultural phenomenon.
“I’m really happy to bring them back to our air next season.”
Welcoming Glee‘s comeback, one of the show’s main stars, Chris Colfer – aka Kurt Hummel – said that “they’re going to do something revolutionary, that’s the word we were told”.
Glee is available to UK viewers on Sky1 on Thursday nights, while New Girl is shown in the UK on Channel 4. The latter show follows Deschanel’s character Jess as she moves into a flat with three single men after a bad break-up.
