GLEE could come to an end after its sixth season.

The revelation was made by Fox entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly at the Television Critics’ Association, when he declared: “I would not anticipate it goes beyond two more seasons.”

However, he did add (when pressed) that “you should never say never”.

Explaining his comments a little more, however, Reilly – who also addressed the issue of how the show will deal with Cory Monteith’s death – continued: “There’s two very clear arcs to get to that end and conclude.

“Listen, if we discover a new crop of kids and there’s some breakout, who knows? But right now we’re thinking about two seasons.”

Asked whether those arcs had changed in light of Monteith’s death, Reilly added that, yes, it “does change” the conclusion co-creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk had originally crafted for the musical.
