Story by Jack Foley

HANK Azaria has joined the cast of Showtime drama Ray Donovan for its forthcoming second season.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Simpsons luminary has been booked for a major arc in its second season and will provide a new foe for leading man Liev Schreiber.

Azaria will play a character named James Cochran, who is head of the LA division of the FBI, who is also on track to become the national director.

He becomes entangled with Ray in a conspiracy about the death of Sully Sullivan (James Woods).

Cochran is further described as someone who is wily and vain, who enjoys holding power over others and who is a surprisingly good musician – although he has other arcane interests that may be his downfall.

Azaria has previously appeared in the Showtime drama Huff, which he toplined for two seasons, earning Emmy and SAG nominations. He has also done five episodes of Friends.

Ray Donovan‘s second season will premiere in the summer, although a specific date has yet to be announced.
