Homeland: Season 3 plot details revealed

Homeland: Season 2

Story by Jack Foley

THE third season of acclaimed thriller Homeland will be based around a “global manhunt for the world’s most wanted terrorist” Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis).

Showtime has teased the plot details as anticipation builds ahead of the third season’s premiere in the US in September.

The statement from the cable network continues: “As Carrie (Claire Danes) and Saul (Mandy Patinkin) begin to pick up the pieces of their shattered professional and personal lives, they are swept up in the political and media firestorm surrounding the terror attack and the subsequent search for Brody’s whereabouts.”

In addition to confirming the return of Lewis, Danes and Patinkin, cast members Morena Baccarin (Jess Brody), Rupert Friend (Quinn), Jackson Pace (Chris Brody) and Morgan Saylor (Dana Brody) are all back.

But neither David Marciano (Virgil) or Diego Klattenhoff (Mike) will return as regulars – but possibly in a recurring capacity.

The 12-episode third season will debut in the US on Sunday, September 29 at 9pm, with Channel 4 expected to show the new episodes shortly afterwards.

  1. It looks to be a great starting point for the third season; now I can’t wait for September 29th to get here. I work at DISH with friends who also watch the show, so I hope we have a premiere party like we did for last season. I’ll probably save all of season three to my DISH Hopper, just like I did with the second one. It’s cool to be able to go back and watch an entire season whenever nostalgia kicks in. And my Hopper’s hard drive stores up to 2,000 hours of TV and entertainment, so I still have enough space for my other series and anything that piques my interest.
