Jamie Lee Curtis for new US TV medical drama

JAMIE Lee Curtis is to star in a new medical drama for CBS in the US.

The as-yet untitled show will see the actress playing the mother of adult quadruplets who grew up on a reality TV show. Her character, named Caroline, is also a distinguished physician.

The show is being produced by David Marshall Grant, the man behind Brothers & Sisters, which ran from 2006 to 2011 and earned actress Sally Field a Primetime Emmy Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award.

Curtis is no stranger to TV. She currently plays a recurring role as Zooey Deschanel’s mother in Fox’s New Girl and has also appeared in Smash.

Her film credits include True Lies, Halloween, A Fish Called Wanda and Trading Places.
