Jeanne Tripplehorn joins Criminal Minds

JEANNE Tripplehorn is joining Criminal Minds as a series regular.
The former Big Love and Basic Instinct star will play a new FBI profiler on the eighth series and will replace long-time cast member Paget Brewster, whose character Emily Prentiss exited at the end of the seventh season.
Tripplehorn’s casting comes after she enjoyed in a two-episode arc on Zooey Deschanel comedy New Girl as the ex-wife of Dermot Mulroney’s character and a year after HBO ended Big Love.
CBS renewed Criminal Minds for an eighth season in March.
