JENNIFER Aniston is to reunite with Reese Witherspoon for a new HBO television series.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the duo will appear in a drama about breakfast TV shows, which has yet to be named.

The move for Aniston marks her first return to TV screens since Friends wrapped in 2004, although she has made the occasional guest appearance in shows like 30 Rock and Cougar Town.

Witherspoon, on the other hand, was recently a part of the critically-acclaimed HBO ensemble Big Little Lies, which also starred Nicole Kidman.

The two have shared the small screen before during Friends, when Witherspoon guest starred as Rachel’s self-centred younger sister.

The breakfast show project is still in the very early stages of development and hasn’t started filming yet, or even been bought by a network.

But it is being led by former HBO head of drama Michael Ellenberg and his newly launched film and TV production company Media Res.
