John Malkovich joins Billions: Season 3

John Malkovich

Story by Jack Foley

JOHN Malkovich has joined the third season of critically-acclaimed financial drama Billions.

The actor will play Russian billionaire Grigor Andolov in the series, although further details about his role are being kept under wraps.

For Malkovich, the role reunites him with the show’s co-creators David Levien and Brian Koppelman, who previously worked with him on the film Rounders – in which he also played a Russian mobster!

They commented: “John appeared in our first two films, Rounders and Knockaround Guys, and we have a long creative history together. We are ecstatic to be reunited with the man who played Teddy KGB once again.”

The third season of Billions will see Paul Giamatti’s Chuck Rhoades and Damian Lewis’s Bobby Axelrod finding themselves in a world that has shifted dramatically.

Hence, while both men remain determined to destroy each other, they must also battle for their own survival amid new forces and powerful enemies.

Wendy Rhoades (Maggie Siff), Chuck’s wife and Axe’s performance coach, is rooting for both of them but must ultimately face up to a decision that could alter the direction of her life irrevocably.

Billions is due to return to US TV screens in March and should follow closely behind on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
