Judge Reinhold joins Beverly Hills Cop TV pilot

Judge Reinhold

Story by Jack Foley

JUDGE Reinhold is poised to reunite with Eddie Murphy for CBS’s forthcoming Beverly Hills Cop pilot.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Reinhold is set to reprise his role as Billy Rosewood alongside Murphy’s Axel Foley.

The pilot, which CBS hope will be picked up to series, is being billed as a continuation of the movie franchise.

It is being written and directed by The Shield‘s Shawn Ryan and focuses on Aaron (Brandon T. Jackson), the police officer son of Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy), who takes down the criminal elements of the rich and famous in Beverly Hills.

According to the report, Reinhold’s Rosewood character will have moved onto bigger things and plays a key role in bringing Aaron into the LAPD’s Beverly Hills precinct.

Also on board for the pilot are Christine Lahti, as Helen, the captain of the Beverly Hills Police Department, David Denman (of The Office US fame), comic Kevin Pollak and Argo‘s Sheila Vand.

At this stage, it is unclear whether Reinhold will recur should the pilot go to series, although Murphy is likely to do so to give the series a higher profile.
