Justified to end after sixth season

CRITICALLY acclaimed crime drama Justified is to end after its sixth season.
The show stars Timothy Olyphant as US Marshall Raylan Givens and was both a critical darling and a ratings hit.
But speaking to reporters Tuesday at the Television Critics’ Association’s winter press tour on Tuesday, FX Networks CEO John Landgraf said that both series showrunner Graham Yost and star Olyphant had decided that season six would be a good place to end.
“I would have liked to have had more Justified,” he added ruefully. “It’s one of my favourite shows.
“[But] we talked about it a year ago. They felt that the arc of the show and what they had to say would be best served by six seasons instead of seven. Regretfully, I accepted their decision.”
When questioned on why the decision had been taken when a seventh season looked almost certain to be greenlit, Yost explained: “Our biggest concern is running out of story and repeating ourselves. This was a long conversation. There were financial incentives to keep going, but it really felt, in terms of story, that six years felt about right.”
