The actress had appeared in the pilot but contrary to initial expectations was unable to return.

Graham will fill Tierney’s role in the show, which is based on the 1989 film of the same name and revolves around a large family in Northern California.

NBC had pushed the project to a post-winter Olympics midseason start after Tierney’s illness delayed production.

Graham’s previous work includes Bad Santa, Evan Almighty and Flash of Genius. She most recently provided her voice to one of the main characters in Sony’s animated smash Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.
