Lindsay Lohan confirms Elizabeth Taylor role

LINDSAY Lohan is to play Elizabeth Taylor in a new TV movie, it has been confirmed.
The former Mean Girls star has been linked to the project, entitled Liz & Dick, for three months but has since reiterated her commitment to the role, prompting Lifetime network boss Rob Sharenow to put out a statement welcoming her on board.
The statement read: “We are thrilled Lindsay will portray beloved Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor. She is one of the rare actresses who possesses the talent, beauty and intrigue to capture the spirit of such a provocative icon.”
Lohan added: “I have always admired and had enormous respect for Elizabeth Taylor. She was not only an incredible actress but an amazing woman as well. I am very honoured to have been asked to play this role.”
An actor has yet to be found to play Taylor’s soulmate and husband Richard Burton but the project is now due to start shooting in June.
