Lost at Comic-Con - Final season secrets revealed!

Lost, Naveen Andrews

Story by Jack Foley

THE creators of Lost attended Comic-Con at the weekend to promise that the show’s final season WOULD answer all the questions surrounding its many mysteries.

Speaking at the San Diego fan convention, executive producer Damon Lindelof also revealed that show favourites Elizabeth Mitchell (aka Juliet Burke) and Jeremy Davies (Daniel Faraday) will return for the final year despite having apparently perished towards the end of the fifth season.

He also promised the return of several other characters who haven’t been seen since the show’s first season – but stopped short of revealing who that includes.

Other revelations to emerge from the hour-long Lost session at Comic-Con included…

A new narrative device that’s unique to the final season.

Further revelations about Jacob.

The solving of the mysterious Dharma food drops – even though there won’t be much about the Initiative itself in the final season.

Another of the show’s executive producers, Carlton Cuse, also said that the final season will resemble the first season in many ways, without invalidating some of the interim years.

“In the first season, the characters were running around the jungle, things felt intense and surprising… We have a way that we’re going to be able to do that in the final season too,” he said.

To which Lindelof added: “The time travel season is over, the flash forward season is over – we’re going to do something different…

“[Basically] everything that matters we’re gonna answer.”

The most recent season of Lost finished with the castaways detonating a bomb on the island in the hope of re-setting the past several years of their lives.
