Louise Brealey and Owen Teale join Sky's A Discovery of Witches

Story by Jack Foley

SHERLOCK star Louise Brealey and Game of Thrones actor Owen Teale have joined the cast of Sky’s long-anticipated A Discovery of Witches.

Deborah Harkness, author of the All Souls trilogy from which the show is being adapted, revealed the news via her Facebook page.

Brealey, best known as the forever friend-zoned Mollie in Sherlock, will play witch Gillian Chamberlain, who is more of a wicked witch than a good one.

Teale, who was Ser Alliser Thorne, formerly of the Night’s Watch in Game of Thrones, will play occult expert and lover of tweed Peter Knox.

Also joining the cast are Aiysha Hart (of Line of Duty fame), Trevor Eve (Waking The Dead) and Poldark‘s Michael Culkin.

Matthew Goode (The Good Wife) and Teresa Palmer (Hacksaw Ridge) have previously been cast in Sky’s lavish adaptation, which is being brought to the screen by Julie Gardner, who previously revived Doctor Who alongside Russell T Davies.

A Discovery of Witches will air on Sky.
