Matt LeBlanc to make TV comeback

Matt Le Blanc

Story by Jack Foley

FORMER Friends favourite Matt LeBlanc is to make a TV comeback in a new BBC comedy entitled Episodes.

The show will follow the fortunes of a British couple who try to recreate their hit UK show for American TV and will find LeBlanc playing himself as a star of the US version.

Episodes boasts strong credentials, having been co-written by Friends writer David Crane and Jeffrey Klarik, of Mad About You fame.

LeBlanc is excited and pleased to be a part of it, telling the BBC website: “I’m so glad I got the part. Seeing someone else playing Matt LeBlanc would have been devastating.”

Production on the show is due to commence early next year in London and Los Angeles.

The six-part series show is a co-production between Hat Trick Productions and the US company Showtime and it will be screened on BBC 2 and Showtime in 2010.

LeBlanc spent 10 years playing Joey Tribbiani on Friends before furthering his character in the ill-fated spin-off Joey, which was subsequently axed after two seasons due to poor ratings.
